The Glenner Memory Care Centers is a nonprofit Alzheimer’s Day Care Center with three San Diego based locations. The Glenner first opened in 1982 and has been helping those struggling with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia ever since. In fact, thirty years and thousands of families later, they are still the only nonprofit, dementia-specific adult day health program in San Diego County.

With a startling 60,000 residents in San Diego with Alzheimer’s or some other form of dementia, The Glenner provides a much needed solution for thousands of families struggling to provide quality care to their loved one under tough circumstances. Every day, they provide safe, compassionate, expert dementia day care in a family like setting. Some people consider them a senior center, just with a special purpose and expertise. They monitor the health and well-being of their participants, check vital signs, monitor changes in behavior and manage medications in addition to therapeutic activities and socialization. With several local support groups, they are also able to help many family members struggling with the rigors of care-giving. The Glenner is truly one of a kind and their program is a wonderful care option so that those afflicted can continue to live in their homes.
